Escaping

Currently, I'm in Tahoe Donner...relaxing, decompressing, and concentrating on myself...work has penetrated my escape from the city a bit, but all in all, I feel absolutely rejuvenated. I woke up early this morning and took my dogs for a hike, and then headed to the lake to soak up some rays...which didn't end so well, because now I am soaking in aloe vera gel. Lol.

Finally had time to catch up with my September issues...

Tahoe Donner is so beautiful, any time of year.

This is me, off duty. No pants, and a Michael Jordan basketball jersey...don't judge me, I'm on vacation.

Be back tomorrow!!!!

another again

fingers frozen in a tight grip. wrapped around the seconds that we once spent. trying to find a smile while a frown slips. cant eat, nothing tastes like your lips. attempting to lose all the memories of you that my heart’s kept. don’t understand why life made you come right to leave me left. was walking strong, now i’m struggling for one breath. going to make it slow, wishing my mind a quick death. results were the worst, after all that i gave best. the road’s straight, but my stride’s bent. think of you when i relax, the absence of your face makes my jaw clench. didn’t go as planned, empty palms where my hands extend. got a million new plans, old you turns them into one mess. needing to leave the pieces alone, i hate puzzles that make no sense. should’ve given up hope for my last lent. can’t run away fast enough imagining your arms wrapped around my leg. money can’t buy happiness but i’ve tried to pawn this and offer up my last cent. tempted to walk all the way up to heaven and ask them what this all meant. devil’s cupid warned me about falling for the godsend. kicked me when i was down, undeserved dent. lost my mind when my head reached your chest. if it were that easy to let go, trust that i would’ve went. finding my beginning that starts where you end. just another again. as to why we met. just another. another again.

Homemade

I started this skirt last summer when I was inspired by something I found in the fabric store. I ran out of feathers and had to order them specially so that I could complete it. I wore it out for the first time for Rose's surprise birthday party over the weekend! All the compliments definitely motivated me to make more pieces...hopefully it takes me less than a year next time. Lol.

I'm in Las Vegas B****

A quick little get-a-way to sin city...as usual, spoiled rotten to the point that coming home to reality just doesn't seem like an option. We stayed in the Hugh Hefner Villa, and had way too many shrimp cocktails...it was pretty fun to sleep on a rotating circular bed though...

Happy 420

420 originated at our high school back in 1971.
"The term originated from a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, United States in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue.

According to an April 2009 article on the The Huffington Post, the group called itself the Waldos because its members hung out by a wall after school. Writer Ryan Grim, citing interviews with anonymous Waldos, claims that the group met by the statue at 4:20 p.m. to begin a search for a crop of abandoned cannabis growing near Point Reyes that they had heard about. They never found the stash, Grim writes, but smoked plenty of marijuana while looking for it"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!!!!

Nana.
Where would I be without you? I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that brings so much light into life...you are undoubtedly, my necessity. I love you and nothing is as good, as when it happens with you by my side...and nothing is as bad, when I have you to catch my fall. You are not only a best friend but a rare find. Rare because you have a good heart; the right heart. Rare because at the end of the day, you get me; you understand. You never skip a beat. If I could plan the rest of our life’s monumental moments, I’d pair them together to enable us to be side by side, or interchange them for the same reason. Whenever I think of what will get me by when rough is the only adjective to describe my journey--no it’s not alcohol, It’s you. ...Okay, and maybe some alcohol. But what good is a bottle of wine to drown myself in without a person to help me float, and what good is a glass of wine without another swimmer to toast with? Life is simpler with two heads, and a lot more fun with two hearts. So Happy Birthday to my Soulmate. Another year. Thank you. I Love you.

(and yes i’m completely obliterated in this picture. sue me.)

Do the holidays really have to be over?

The other night, Kate Starr and I had a soulmate night. I made an Italian dinner accompanied with sparkling apple cider, later followed by peppermint tea. :) We spent the night talking endlessly about silly little things and comedic scenarios. As she left she snapped this picture of me. YES. My Christmas decorations still adorn my door. I just can't bring myself to take down the beautiful wreath I made that still radiates that amazing pine smell through my hallway. My goal: to take the decorations down by my birthday. Lol.

Random Thoughts on a Sunday night

I was extremely unproductive today. It was fun watching the superbowl, the team I was rooting for won, so I'm pretty sure I won the bet. I wish Desperate Housewives were on tonight. Back to San Francisco tomorrow. I think starting tomorrow I'm going to completely change my diet. Boys are stupid and annoying and I may never understand them. I'm glad I survived Kate*Starr's birthday weekend, and I'm glad she survived being 21. Lol. Ay yi yi, tomorrow is a new day. It better be good.
